When I started to use wet media in my journals, I was disappointed by many watercolor pads. The paper was not strong, it could not absorb water adequately, sometimes the paint would lose its vibrancy when dry and so on so forth. The good watercolor papers were really expensive and I was afraid to experiment and "waste" them. I researched the market, for many years, until I found the perfect paper. It is strong, accepts watercolor and other wet media perfectly and it is really good for all my mixed media experiments both wet and dry. The last few years, it is the only paper I use.
It is made by Fabriano, an Italian paper manufacturer that produces quality paper since 1264. It is a strong 300 gsm (140lb) mixed media paper. It is designed to accommodate both wet and dry media such as watercolor, gouache, acrylics and ink. It has neutral PH and it is also acid free and chlorine free.
This sketchbook has 40 pages (counting both sides), of this unique paper, and it will be the joy of any watercolor artist, art journaler, mixed media artist or painter.
